ELENA DEMYANENKO (Dancer) is a Russian-born graduate of the Academy of Theatrical Arts (Moscow) and has been dancing and choreographing in New York City since 2001. Before joining Stephen Petronio Company in 2003, Elena performed internationally with Nikolai Androsov's Russian Seasons Dance Company (1994-98), in director Valery Fokin's production of "Van Gogh too...,"and Riverdance: The Show.  She has also worked with NYC artists Jimena Paz, Nathan Trice, and Andrew Marcus.  Elena's choreography has been presented at BRIC, Wow Theater, Movement Research at Judson Church and Dixon Place.  Her recent film "October 27th" was the recipient of EMPAC Dance Movies Commission for 2007.
