James Lavelle - Composer, Strange Attractors, Part II (2000)

At age eighteen in 1992, Lavelle founded Mo Wax Records in London where he lives today. The label is known as the most influential and pioneering stable of young talent in the British music industry. Evolving out of the jazz scene, the label soon gained a reputation for fusing musical genres that had previously not been mixed. Lavelle and fellow artists at Mo Wax blended elements of jazz, instrumental hip hop, electro, techno and drum'n bass on original tracks and remixed work. It is this collision of styles that Lavelle and his label went on to refine and develop. Lavelle has become particularly known for his UNKLE project, remixing some of the finest records of the late 90s.
