Tony Cohen - Costume Designer, Bird Gerhl (2007) and Girl in a World (2008)

Cohen was born in the Netherlands and grew up in the heart of the lively city of Amersterdam.  This is where his grandmother's passion was for selling vintage second-hand clothing at the famous "waterloopein-market." Some of these vintage pieces are still in his archive.  This and the fact that his father was working in women's fashion for 40 years showhow led him to the path that he says, is inevitable!  After education and playing professional sports in the US for a brief time, he started making garment dyed clothing in Italy.  That reminded him of the early 80s, when this was popular among admired designers such as Katherine Hamnett and Jimmy Taverniti.
